“Pujing Baobaohao” is a large restaurant with floor area up to 1100m2 (including kitchen). In order to eliminate the massive sense, the space is divided into three theme halls and private room areas, each space endowed with different features, providing a reason for the guests to revisit the restaurant.
Getting out of the obsolete yoke that “the Chinese restaurant should be like this”, in the process of expressing the complementary relationship between the dish and the space, the designer decides to adopt a great number of stones and logs etc. natural materials instead of the widely used resplendent ornaments, with the purpose of highlighting the changes of light and shade in the design. Even under the condition that the natural materials can not be employed in an intact way, we all try our best to display the natural texture. For instance, with cement as raw material, the wall in the hall achieves the effect that resembles log. At the first blush, it really creates the log-like effect that can mix the false with the genuine.
